Why Kingman, AZ Is My Home Town

I moved to Kingman, AZ when I was approximately 6 years old. I remember driving into town on a drizzly winter day and staring out the car window amazed at how beautiful it was. 33 years later and I still have that same feeling for our small town. Growing up I remember my friends would talk about going to college and never coming back. The reason they gave was that there wasn’t anything for the younger generation to do here. I couldn’t imaging leaving my family or friends so I stayed, started a career in banking, started my family and have never looked back.

Every day I get to talk to people moving here from all around the world and I hear them talk about what they love about Kingman. They talk about the things I have never given much thought to. The views of our Hualapai Mountain range from about every angle in Kingman, the sound of the train rolling through downtown, the beautiful White Cliffs hiking trails, Monolith Gardens, the proximately to the rivers and lakes while still allowing cooler temperatures, the wide open spaces that allow you to own a piece of land and have plenty of room to do what you please. You cannot get these things in every city.

Kingman, AZ is located about 110 miles from Las Vegas, NV for your night life, shopping and entertainment, 112 miles from Williams, AZ which is a perfect place to escape the heat and only 34 miles to the Bullhead/Laughlin area where you can enjoy the amazing Colorado River or beautiful Lake Mohave. We have no shortage of outdoor activities. If you love hiking, we have amazing hiking trails that continue to grow and improve. Mountain biking, rock climbing, off-roading, are all available within 15 minutes of anywhere in Kingman, AZ.

I have no desire to raise my daughter anywhere else and I will continue to instill my love of Kingman in her so that someday, she will start a career and raise her family here as well.
