White Cliffs Wagon Trail in downtown Kingman, AZ is quickly becoming a local favorite hiking spot. For many years, the trail was only used by a few that knew the trail was there. Recently, local non-profits have spent time and energy revamping the trail and trail head to bring light to this great little out-and-back trail that has been a secret for so many years. The wagon trail was used in the late 1800’s to move Tufa stone and ore from the nearby mines to the railroad. The Tufa stone was was used in the construction of many of the historic buildings and homes that are still standing today. At the start of the trail, you can see the large indents in the rock made from the wagon wheels and the holes in the rock that were made by poles used to propel the wagon up the steep terrain. The trail loop offers a beginners loop and an intermediate loop and is some of the most beautiful country you will find in Arizona. You might meet some new friends along the way, including rabbits, lizards and often snakes, so be careful out there! There are benches placed along the trail to sit, relax and enjoy all that Kingman, Arizona has to offer. If you are looking for somewhere to go and enjoy the beautiful weather, I would absolutely recommend checking out this trail.
