Kingman, AZ, is a city with a rich history that dates back to the 1800s. Originally, the area was home to Native American tribes such as the Hualapai and Mojave. In the late 1800s, prospectors discovered gold and silver in the surrounding mountains, leading to a population boom and the establishment of the town of Kingman in 1882.
Throughout its history, Kingman has been an important transportation hub, serving as a stop along the Santa Fe Railroad and Route 66. During World War II, the city was also home to the Kingman Army Airfield, which trained over 35,000 soldiers.
Today, Kingman is a thriving city with a population of over 28,000 people. Visitors to the area can explore its rich history at the Mohave County Museum of History and Arts, or take a drive along Route 66 to see historic landmarks such as the Powerhouse Visitors Center and the Route 66 Museum.
